Born and raised in Austria, Hans became fascinated with Scotland and Scotch whisky more than 30 years ago. He moved to Scotland and is now working as a distiller at a small Highland distillery where he is also showing visitors around.

Hans has explored over 70 distilleries in Scotland and has tasted hundreds of whiskies from all over the world. Recently he has been invited to be an advisor for the world’s northermost distillery, Aurora Spirit, in Norway.

Although he continues to distill the planet’s finest spirit – Scotch whisky – he is now available as a consultant for new and established whisky distilleries alike. His expertise includes whisky production as well as public relations via traditional and online media channels.

Hans lives in rural Perthshire, Scotland, together with his family.

    R. Thierschmann
